Little help on the right direction is appreciated. Thanks in advance..

Create the Cat class with five constructors:
- Name,
- Name, weight, age
- Name, age (standard weight)
- Weight, color (name, address, and age are unknown; the cat is homeless)
- Weight, color, address (someone else's pet)

The constructor's job is to make the object valid.
For example, if the weight is unknown, then you need to specify some average weight.
A cat can't weigh nothing.
The same applies to age and color. But there may or may not be a name (i.e. name might be null).
The same applies to the address (it might be null).

Requirements:

The Cat class must have a String variable name.
The Cat class must have an int variable age.
The Cat class must have an int variable weight.
The Cat class must have a String variable address.
The Cat class must have a String variable color.
The class must have a constructor that takes a name as an argument, but initializes all variables except the address.

in your object calls, you have to also assign the other variables that are not arguments but known, as described below. For example, if the weight is unknown, then you need to specify some average weight. A cat can't weigh nothing. The same applies to age and color. But there may or may not be a name (i.e. name might be null). The same applies to the address (it might be null).

For example, take one of the red requirements: "The class must have a constructor that takes a name, weight, and age as arguments, and initializes all variables except the address." public Cat(String name, int weight, int age) { this.name = name; this.weight = weight; this.age = age; } This method take the mentioned arguments. It's right. But we have five fields (instance-variables) in the object. According to the task, the 'address' variable can be ignored. But there is one in five, the 'color'. Your constructor does nothing with this instance-variable. You should initialize it though. Initialization means you give it a starter value. It doesn't matter how much. What you want. Give it a fixed value. (It means: The life of all newly created object will start with this color-value.)

hi 1. Only name and address can be empty. 2. Color must be. e.g. String color = "black"; Condition from the task "A cat can't weigh nothing. The same applies to age and color." 3. That's how I created one constructor: public Cat (String name) { this.name = name; this.wiek = age; this.weight = weight; this.color = color; } 4. There must be 5 constructors, create the other 4 methods similarly, only with different parameters 6. That's all

I think the task is looking for the constructors to provide the necessary values and not just relying on values being set on the each field's declaration line.
