Im really confused. I have kinda gotten lost and not much makes sense anymore.

Use the keyboard to separately enter the name, number1, and number2.
Display the following phrase:
<name> will receive <number1> in <number2> years.

Here's an example:
Nick will receive 10000 in 5 years.

Requirements:

The program should output text.
The program must read data from the keyboard.
The displayed text must contain the entered name.
The displayed text must contain the entered number1.
The displayed text must contain the entered number2.
The displayed text must fully match the task conditions.

First you need to read the data in the given order, name, number, number2. Second, the output sentence must completely match with the given sentence. Look at your output, you don't have a space between the name and "will receive", as in a few other places, and you're missing "years." at the end. Third, it's not reader.readLine() it's sc.nextLine(). readLine is used when you are using BufferedReader instead of Scanner

Ok, thank you. i didnt know if order mattered. And i realized that there needs to be space after i had posted that. So I used BufferedReader instead of Scanner and i get this "cannot find symbol symbol: class BufferReader location: class"

solution

you must import a package containing the class you want to use: import java.io.BufferedReader; (or import java.io.*; to import all classes in package) BufferedReader reader=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); String abc=reader.readLine(); int a=Integer.parseInt(reader.readLine()); Or you can use scanner package: import java.util.Scanner; (import java.util.*) Scanner reader = new Scanner(System.in); String abc = reader.nextLine(); I hope everything will work now

on line 14 you have the variable number and in the output you use the number1 ... maybe it's a problem if you corrected the rest properly
