I need help to verify my code I think I understand it with a String but now Idk how to make it with an integer

Try to understand what is happening step by step. 1) When you call readLine() method, it will always return String as a result, no matter what you type from keyboard during program execution. 2) So you need to save that return result in a variable or to use right ahead. 3)

int n.readLine();

However, here you are declaring an int variable, without providing a variable name. So this will give you a compile time error. Remember, every variable must have a name, like this:

int exampleName;

4) Another problem is that even if you provide a valid name for your int variable it still won't compile, because you are trying to save a String result into an int variable. So the easiest solution is to declare a String instead of int.

So I have to give the int a name like always before I can use it. However, I thought "n" would be the name of the input and also rhe integer then but they are two different things then, right?

In your code variable n was already declared and initialised on line 12.

BufferedReader n = ...

It's type is BufferedReader. You can't "redeclare" n with another type in the same scope. So you need to create another variable of type String to store what readLine() method returns when you call it.

have you tried just to read a string and display that?

String input = n.readLine();
System.o...("I will..." + input + "...");

If that won't validate the Integer class has a method to parse strings for integers

int number = Integer.parseInt(input);

Thank u, that helped me. I could verify the exercise with the string. However, I still don't understand it with the String and integer as an input. But maybe I get it in some time
