I shared i a link in my last post to you with type conversions. You don't necessarily need to read anything. I would recommend using System.out.println() to output the results of each line. Every time you make a change run the program and look at the output to see what is going on. Do this 10, 20, 30 times and you can start to intuit what you need to do. After practicing a bit, reading the reasons why is going to make a lot more sense. Here is an example:

int a = 15;
int b = 4;
float c = a / b;
System.out.println("a / b = " + c);
double d = a * 1e-3 + c;
System.out.println("And this is? " + 1e-3);
System.out.println("a * 1e-3 + c = " + d);

System.out.println(d);

If you get to a point where you figure out the task, just remember the correct solution, reset the task to remove all your test code (this fails validation), and then put in the correct solution. This is how I personally solved nearly all the tasks.
