Can someone please help me where I messed up? I followed the syntax mentioned but it's somehow not running.

Enter the number and name from the keyboard. Display the following string:
<name> will take over the world in <number> years. Mwa-ha-ha!

Here's an example:
Kevin will take over the world in 8 years. Mwa-ha-ha!

The order in which the data is input matters a lot.

Requirements:

The program should output text.
The program must read data from the keyboard.
The displayed text must contain the entered name.
The displayed text must contain the entered number.
The displayed text must fully match the task conditions.

System.out.println("ent name");
System.out.println("ent age");

I think the above statement is not required because the question does not require us to print them. Also you can optimize the code as follows Instead of this:

String age= buf.readLine();
Integer sAge= Integer.parseInt(age);

You can write as:

Integer sAge = Integer.parseInt(buf.readLine());

Try this syntax for input data from keyboard: InputStream inputStream = System.in; Reader inputStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(inputStream); BufferedReader bufferedReader = new BufferedReader(inputStreamReader); String name = bufferedReader.readLine(); String sAge = bufferedReader.readLine(); int nAge = Integer.parseInt(sAge); Also share the error messages which you get when you compile the code

You Should enter the number first and then name.. its the order in which you enter the data..

The requirement says: "Enter the number and name from the keyboard. The order in which the data is input matters a lot." Actually, any order is good but in our case the author wants us to specify age then name.

When you run this code: BufferedReader buf = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); System.out.println("ent name"); String name = buf.readLine(); System.out.println("ent age"); String age= buf.readLine(); //Integer sAge= Integer.parseInt(age); System.out.println(name + " will take over the world in "+age+" years. Mwa-ha-ha!"); You get this: ent name ent age null will take over the world in null years. Mwa-ha-ha! I get this when I use Run button without enter some data before this. First make two System.out.println methods comments. Second if you Write Kevin and in a new line 8 in box named Input data (System.in) You will get this: Kevin will take over the world in 8 years. Mwa-ha-ha! IT WORKS ! :) P.S. You don't have to convert String age to int to be use in System.out.println method. The line 19 in your code must be: int sAge= Integer.parseInt(age); in real program
