Why it does not want to pass? The result is correct.

Implement the changePath(String, String) method so that it replaces the jdk version in the path passed in the first method parameter with the version passed in the second parameter, and returns the new path.
The JDK version starts with "jdk" and ends at "/".

Example:
path - "/usr/java/jdk1.8/bin"
JDK version - "jdk-13"
The changePath(path, JDK version) method should return the path "/usr/java/jdk-13/bin".

The main() method is not involved in testing.

Requirements:

The changePath(String, String) method needs to be implemented as outlined in the task conditions.

hmmm, they say: The JDK version starts with "jdk" and ends at "/". so I'd interpret that as jdk.*/ and that'll catch "/usr/java/jdk1.8/bin" "/usr/java/jdk/bin" "/usr/java/jdk1.8-beta/bin"

I just tried that will all those test cases. Got the same result every time and STILL failed the tester. Code Gym needs to hire me as a tester because I'm a hacking this program daily. my above answer is working perfectly with the given the example but not for 'all cases'. CG just is talking about a 'path passed to a method' that contains a jdk version. That starts with jdk and ends with / means your code should work correctly with a path like "/bill/and/teds/jdk 2.3.4beta/bogus/journey/" the above regex will result in (when replacing with jdk-13) "/bill/and/teds/jdk-13/" cause the quantifier is greedy. It is looking for the last ocurrence of / and replaces all in between jdk and / with the replacement string. You could modify the regex a little bit with a lazy modifier ("jdk.+?/" or "jdk.*?/", depending on further requirements - I'd go with the * version) or, you use the save bank and code some solution based on substring.
