Right result, except of one requirement

It was required, that i had to fill array with right numbers in the main method. Where is my mistake? Help pls

Create a triangular array where the value of each element is the sum of its indices.

For example:
array[7][3] = 7 + 3 = 10, array[3][0] = 3 + 0 = 3.

Display the array in the following form:
0 1 2 2 3 4 3 4 5 6 4 5 6 7 8 5 6 7 8 9 10 ...

The numbers in each line are separated by a space.
You can define a triangular array as follows:
int[][] array = new int[10][]; array[0] = new int[1]; array[1] = new int[2]; array[2] = new int[3]; ...

Requirements:

In the main(String[]) method, fill the two-dimensional result array with numbers as outlined in the task conditions.
The displayed text should contain 10 lines.
The displayed numbers must match the task conditions.

Hi there, At first sight one of the requirements of the task is that the output must have 10 lines. Yours ends at 9.

Your array has only set the last cell in each row. All other values are 0. That's cause of where you initialize each array row (line 14). That's definitely the wrong place.

Hi Micle, Sorry, you're right. I checked this morning your bit of code for this task but I've seen that Thomas was faster than me. The problem as Thomas said is where "result[i]= new int[i+1];" is placed.

You can see what Thomas is saying by simply adding a bit of code:

for (int i=0;i<result.length;i++){
   for(int a=0;a<=i;a++){
      result[i]= new int[i+1];
      result[i][a]=i+a;
      System.out.print(result[i][a] +" ");
   }
   System.out.println();
}

// add these lines ↓
System.out.println("-------------------");
for(int[] temp : result) System.out.println(Arrays.toString(temp));

You can see that, while your output is correct, the values in stored in the multidimensional array are not correct. You will need to fix this to pass.
