Understanding nextLine() mehod - java help on CodeGym

When I use nextInt() method first to input an integer and after that I use nextLine() to input a string with spaces, it doesn't work for some reason .... I know I haven't explained the problem well but I don't know how to either... Please help if you can

Scanner console = new Scanner(new StringReader("12 13\nhallo")); // nextInt() scans the line till the next delimiter (by default whitespace) or till the end of the line // here a whitespace is found first and the 12 before that whitespace is found System.out.println(console.nextInt()); // now there's "13\nhallo" left... next is not a whitespace but the end of the line is reached, 13 is found // the next line char stays System.out.println(console.nextInt()); // now "\nhallo" is left. If you now read a line, you just read an empty line, just the \n System.out.println(console.nextLine()); // left is "hello" and that what's the last nestLine() call prints System.out.println(console.nextLine());
