I think that logic of your code is OK. Maybe you should try with curly braces? for ( i=1 ; i<11 ; i++ ) { for (j=1 ; j<11 ; j++){ System.out.println(i * j + " ") ; } } System.out.println();

you need to use print() method inside the loop to write numbers in one line.
