Even if you put the last statement first, it won't help.That's not the issue. All the conditions need to be complete and it is not the case: if you enter the same number three time, only two number will appear on the console because it satisfies your first "if". You forgot to include the number that is different from the others so java will go until your last condition: if (a == b && c !=b){ System.out.print(a+" "+b);} So change your first 3 condition statements.

You won't ever get to the last condition because one of the above conditions will be true for the last one to be true. Like others have said put the last condition first.

put your last condition on top of all. because if all 3 numbers are equal it will still just display a and b because it will never go to the last condition.

well I got it just now! The problem is we are using if statement to test the equality. In this case we have to test for equality of all the numbers in the beginning and not at the end. This is because if we place the code which tests for equality of all numbers at the end, that code is never reached. So, try this: if (a == b) && (b ==c) // compare the three numbers else // compare two numbers pairwise. // ie (a==b), (b==c) or (a==c) The point is code which tests for equality of three numbers must be at the beginning. I hope it is clear to you now.

I have the same problem. Three integers cannot be printed. Why not try this: System.out.print( a +" "); System.out.print(b+" "); System.out.println(c+" ") I will try the same.

What happens here is that the if-else check never gets to the point where it will check the 3 numbers equality. Try putting this condition:

( a == b ) && (b == c)

At the top of your if-else checking.

if(( a == b ) && (b == c)) {

} else if(a == b) {

} else if(b == c) {

} else if(c == a) {

}
