Question about the task

I don't know how to set my condition in line 25, because it shows "java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException " Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks a lot~

1. Read 10 words from the keyboard and add them to a list of strings.
2. Determine whether the list is ordered by increasing string length.
3. If it is not, then display the index of the first element that violates this order.

Requirements:

Declare a string list variable and immediately initialize it.
Read 10 lines from the keyboard and add them to the list.
If the list is ordered by increasing string length, then you don't need to display anything.
If the list is not ordered by increasing string length, then display the index of the first element that violates this order.

Hello, change this :

System.out.println(list.indexOf(list.get(i)));

with

System.out.println(list.indexOf(list.get(i+1)));

In the last iteration when i = list.size + 1, it will exceed the size of the array so the program will crash. You need to add a way to exit the loop immediately after the condition is met. Also you might want to change the i <= list.size() to before the last element, for the same reason.

Try in the line 23 instead of i<=list.size() insert i<=list.size()-1

int strSizeb=list.get(i+1).length(); is fine until you get to last iteration of for loop then its out of bounds i < list.size() -1 should do it

try in for loop.....i < list.size()-1;

try not using indexof.....just print(list.get(i))

will print the value, in the task condition we need the index of the first element.
