It's very simple. Just try to find the factors of 382. You will get the first parenthesis location. Then do the same for second parenthesis.

You need to know, the multiplication is the first in executing. If it is done, only after will be executed the adding. Java starts it from the left. In any case you need to try the program and observe the output. You can affect the order of executing with applying parentheses. Anything inside the parentheses has first precedence!! For example: (2 * 3 + 4 * 5 +( 6 * 7)) // it means: 6 + 20 + (42) // = 26 + 42 = 68 For example: 2 *( 3 + 4) * (5 + 6) * 7 // it means: 2 * ( 7 ) * ( 11 ) * 7 // it means: 14 * 11 *7 // it means: 154 *7 // = 1078 etc.
