I can't find any typos either. Could someone help troubleshoot for me?

1. Create an array of 15 integers.
2. Populate it with values from the keyboard.
3. Let the array index represent the house number. The array value at a particular index represents the number of people living in the corresponding house.
Houses with odd numbers are located on one side of the street. Those with even numbers are on the other side. Find out which side of the street has more people living on it.
4. Display the following message: "Odd-numbered houses have more residents." or "Even-numbered houses have more residents."

Note:
The house at index 0 is considered even.

5. If the number of residents on each side of the street is the same, then output nothing.

Requirements:

The program must create an array of 15 integers.
The program should read numbers for the array from the keyboard.
The program should display "Odd-numbered houses have more residents." if the sum of odd array elements is greater than the sum of even ones.
The program should display "Even-numbered houses have more residents." if the sum of even array elements is greater than the sum of odd ones.
The program should not output text to the console if the number of residents on each side is the same.

The array index represents the house's even/odd numbers i.e. [0](even),[1](odd),2[even], and so on. read the inputs and sum evens/odds.

A lot of people get this problem wrong in the same exact way that you did. So the house numbers are equal to the array index. Your algorithm should be counting how many people live in each house (the user input), and increasing even or odd by that amount based on if the house number (array index) is even or odd; So lets say you have an array of 5 elements (instead of 15 for brevity), and you fill it with user input such that: Array = [5, 3, 1, 2, 4] now you have to count: at index 0, which is even, there are 5 people: increase even by 5; at index 1, which is odd, there are 3 people: increase odd by 3; at index 2, which is even, there are 1 people: increase even by 1; at index 3, which is odd, there are 2 people: increase odd by 2; at index 4, which is even, there are 4 people: increase even by 4; so by the end of this you should have: even = 10 and odd = 5 and the output would be: "Even-numbered houses have more residents." You can change the variable name from "streetNumbers" to something like "occupantCount" if you want it to be easier to read, though it is not necessary.

I ended up going with "residentCount" lol. But once you explained it I got it pretty quickly. Also, have you ever heard of or gone through the Helsinki Java MOOC?

@connor I have not, this is the first I have heard of MOOC. I have a book no C# I have read about 1/2 through, and that is all my prior experience before codegym.

I've started it also with doing this at the same time and while it is a lot to do, I feel like the different methods of teaching between the two really helps to bridge any gaps I have in understanding that you haven't helped me cover lol.

I need to check it out. Codegym kind of touches briefly on a lot of subject, but doesn't really fully explain. The tasks are invaluable though, and i found for myself doing them teaches me a lot faster and more solidly than just reading and answering a few questions.

Yeah, absolutely! The practice here is INVALUABLE to learning how to really use it, but I've found that since I'm actually doing the practice it makes it a little easier to learn about it in a school type setting and layout that they offer. I've sent you a message!
