The problem is that you are making only two comparisons at a time before displaying the output. This is incomplete. You need to make at least three comparisons (de, ef & df) to determine the order. if (d<e && e<f && d<f) { System.out.println (d + " " + e + " " + f); } else if (.......

The way that the greater than and less than operators work is that the numbers will only return true if they are greater than or less than the number being tested, or false otherwise. That seems like common sense, but the thing that trips most people up is that they will return false if the numbers are equal. This is the problem in your code, you never check for equality. If you enter 3 random numbers, and 2 (or more) of them are equal, then the code will output nothing because every single one of your if checks (the logical AND parts) will return false. You can solve this in many different ways, but the 2 popular ways to it are: 1) what you did, with a whole series of if - else if checks or 2) my recommendation (and also the name of the task), is to sort the three numbers first then output them in correct order I can explain what to do for option 2, and if you choose to try it out ill leave the actual code for you: check if a is larger than b if true then swap them check if b is larger than c if true swap them check if a is larger than b (need this in case b and c were swapped) if true swap them When this is done the numbers are in the correct order and you just need to output them to screen. ** to swap create a temp int and store the first value in it, then set the first value to the second value, then set the temp value to the second value....... numbers swapped.
