Maybe everything will be not correct enough, but i think the converter program work this way: In the main method, the command System.out.println((convertCelsiusToFahrenheit(41)) - on the one part it calls the convertCelsiusToFahrenheit method, for executing, - on the other part it passes the value 41 to the convertCelsiusToFahrenheit method, directly into the variable celsius, to execute the operation with this value. If here you write not 41, but 100, then the convertCelsiusToFahrenheit method will get the value 100, and the method will execute the operation with this value. public static double convertCelsiusToFahrenheit(int celsius) // The convertCelsiusToFahrenheit method is waiting for an int value. We named this int variable to celsius now. It is declarated now. This method will make an operation with this celsius variable, if the method will get a concrete value for this variable (from the main method). You don't have to declarate variable TF and TC here! It was just a formula for us, how to convert. You have to write to do an operation with this celsius variable. We don't need declare any new double variable, because of this method (or more exactly the method's return value) itself is the double variable. The "return" command will send back the calculated value to the main method, and the main method will print this value immediately. What you write after "return", that value (or variable-value) will be returned to main method.

This code has hard coded 41 into the method. The method should return the correct amount no matter what number you pass to it from main. Instead, this code will return 105.8 no matter what number you pass as an argument.
