Can you tell me how to return the 3 methods in Solution class ? thx.

1. Create an abstract Drink class with an implemented public void taste() method that displays "Delicious".
2. Create a Wine class that inherits Drink and implements a public String getCelebrationName() method that returns "Birthday".
3. Create a SparklingWine class that inherits Wine and implements a public String getCelebrationName() method that returns "New Year's".
4. Write implementations for the getDeliciousDrink, getWine, and getSparklingWine methods.
5. All the classes must be in separate files.

Requirements:

The abstract Drink class must be in a separate file.
The Drink class must implement a public void taste() method that displays "Delicious".
The Wine class must be in a separate file and be a descendant of the Drink class.
The Wine class must implement a public String getCelebrationName() method that returns "Birthday".
The SparklingWine class must be in a separate file and be a descendant of the Wine class.
The SparklingWine class must implement a public String getCelebrationName() method that returns "New Year's".
The Solution class must implement the getDeliciousDrink() method, which returns a Wine object.
The Solution class must implement the getWine() method, which returns a Wine object.
The Solution class must implement the getSparklingWine() method, which returns a SparklingWine object.

In the Solution class you have 4 methods, where 3 of them are implemented incorrectly. Each method, other than main, has a return value and should return an object of that type without doing anything else (like Sys.out.pr). public static Drink getDeliciousDrink() { } For example, this method should only return a Drink.

Yeah i know what you mean. I just get confuesd by how to return those 3 methods. Can you please post the Drink method and BubblyWine ? thx

I understand, this was very confusing to me too when I first learned it. Once you start to figure out the concepts being taught, codegym is great in reinforcing them with the tasks as practice. So, anyways, back to your problem. The methods all have specific return values and you need to make sure to return the appropriate value. Let me give you some examples from things you already know: Here is a class you should be familiar with,

BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));

First you declare the type, BufferedReader, and variable name (on the left of the equals sign), and then initialize the object with the 'new' keyword and an object of the type declared. This is how all objects are used and declared (and custom classes are objects). I see you already use this technique on line 23,

Wine wine = new Wine();

Now, going back to the BufferedReader, if you wanted to create a method to initialize it then you would have to create a method that returns a BufferedReader object and use that method to initialize: BufferedReader br = getBufferedReader(); And to make this work properly, that method needs to replace the right side of the equals (where the new keyword and code was), so the method implementation would be

public static BufferedReader getBufferedReader(){
     return new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
}

Notice how it is almost exactly like the methods in the task. If you follow this example you should be able to figure out the rest of the task.
