1. A Little About CodeGym

CodeGym is a legendary company. 😎 It appeared in the fall of 2012 and quickly gained popularity. Learning at CodeGym was warm and cozy: adventures and conversations with characters from Futurama, gamified learning format, and a very large community where participants actively helped each other.

CodeGym also distinguished itself with a strong focus on practice. In 2015, the course included 1200 practical tasks, with auto-check, requirements, and recommendations. You could solve tasks either through WebIDE (a special widget on the site) or via a plugin for the professional IDE IntelliJ IDEA.

A particular point of pride was creating a super-efficient Help department. Every time a user asked a question about a task, the question automatically included: the task condition, its requirement statuses, and the user's code, which was displayed in a very convenient widget.

2. Expansion

In 2018, our CodeGym became available worldwide. Now the course has been translated into 30 languages and has many students from the USA, Mexico, Germany, India, and China.

One school in the USA even hung a thank-you plaque for CodeGym outside the school near its name.

Besides the plaque, we have a lot of other things to show.

For example, photos with gratitude from Croatian students. Or awards from American college students, happy participants of a robotics contest from the USA, photos of McDonough School students who, after completing CodeGym, took 1st place in Java at the Lockheed Martin contest, photos of Indians who attended our offline programming lectures and then took the online course.

From the photos, you can see the scale, and all of this is real.

3. CodeGym University

In the fall of 2021, the CodeGym team launched a new learning format — CodeGym University. Our goal was to graduate not beginners, but people close to Middle Developer level. Such people can easily handle any job and find one.

The new learning format was based on key points:

  • Training lasts 12 months.
  • The training plan closely matches the job market vacancies.
  • Learning in small groups with a mentor.
  • Full online learning option.
  • The pace of learning is set by the mentor: deadlines and schedules are established.
  • Lots of practice and big projects.
  • A very large final project.
  • Training includes all nuances of job searching and interviews.

The new approach to learning proved to be very effective. Firstly, mentors set the pace of learning, which helps most people avoid laziness or burnout. Adequate deadlines and schedules are set for each project, and mentors are ready to adapt to students' needs.

Secondly, experienced developers and teachers work as mentors. They are given significant creative freedom, which greatly boosts student motivation. If the mentor is passionate, over time, the students' enthusiasm also ignites.

And thirdly, there's a strong emphasis on practice. The complete Fullstack Software Engineer course contains up to 2000 practical tasks, which can be solved via WebIDE or IntelliJ IDEA plugin. Plus, the course includes 10 projects and one truly giant final project.

Perhaps that's why half of the CodeGym University graduates get hired as mid-level developers right away. On the other hand, why not, if some mentors manage to teach their students Docker, cloud technologies, and even microservices? If cloning were legal, we'd have cloned such mentors long ago 😅

4. C# Software Engineer Course

If you're reading these lines, it means that in the summer of 2025, we launched our C# course.

Over the past few years, the popularity of C# and the .NET ecosystem has only grown, and we often received questions from students: are we planning to launch a course on modern C# and .NET, or even a full-fledged Fullstack .NET Developer program? Because now, .NET developers really find interesting and well-paid jobs more easily.

Why not! Although we started as CodeGym, it doesn't stop us from creating excellent courses on other in-demand technologies — we have over 12 years of experience in teaching and development.

We brought in several top C# and .NET specialists, carefully studied the job market, and developed the latest training plan based on C# 14 and .NET 10. Officially, .NET 10 will be released only in fall 2025, so when you finish the course, you'll know all the newest features of C# ✅

We named the course C# Software Engineer. The core of the program is an in-depth study of C# 14 syntax, modern OOP, collections, and LINQ. Also, working with files, serialization, multithreading, and asynchronous programming. Well, I won't spoil everything — you'll see it all yourself 😎
