A Short Parable to Close

A flood came. People were running, saving themselves. One devout man, Khaim, stayed and prayed: “God will save me.”
A truck passes by:
— Khaim, hop in, come with us!
— No, God will save me.

The water rises—a boat floats by:
— Khaim, jump in!
— No, God will save me.

The water is up to the roof; a helicopter arrives:
— Khaim, hang on, we’ll save you!
— No, God will save me.

In the end Khaim drowns, goes to heaven, and asks God:
— Why didn’t you save me?
And God answers:
— I sent you a truck, a boat, and a helicopter! What was the matter?
